B.A., B.C.L. is an experienced and dedicated member of the legal profession. After studies at the University of New Brunswick (BA’64, BCL’68) he was admitted to the New Brunswick bar in 1968 and the Nova Scotia bar in 1970. He has been an active member of the Canadian Bar Association since 1968. He is a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick and, since the 1980’s has served on its Compensation Committee, working to establish and maintain the high standards of the profession. He is also a long-standing member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’Association.

Practicing law in a small town, he is deeply committed to public affairs and community service. He has served both as a member and as chair of the District School Board and on the boards of the Sackville Memorial Hospital, Renaissance Sackville, Live Bait Theatre, and the United Church Home for Senior Citizen (Drew Nursing Home). He was a founding member of the Sackville Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) and of its successor, the Greater Sackville Chamber of Commerce. An active Rotarian since 1976, he is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Past President of the Sackville club.

Sherry Burns Sherry Burns

Sherry Burns came to the practice in 1982 after working for some years with the Bank of Nova Scotia. She is a meticulous bookkeeper, financial administrator and accountancy clerk. By now, she has the office books in such fine shape that she is able to spare some time to assist other clients, such as Statistics Canada, Environment Canada, and the firm of Jorgenson and Bickerton Chartered Accountants.

Sandra Briggs-Sheppard Sandra Briggs-Sheppard

Sandra Briggs-Sheppard has been a mainstay of the practice since 1976. Beginning as a legal secretary, her responsibility for client contact has grown steadily. By completing courses offered by the Provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia Sandra has gained expertise as a qualified real estate property assistant and is fully experienced in handling the registry and migration of land titles.

Clients appreciate her personal involvement from start to finish. “I realize that buying a house is a major investment for most people,” she says. “The more knowledgeable I can make them about the process, the easier it is for them.”

Emily Blomsma Emily Blomsma

Emily Blomsma, a graduate of Oulton College in Moncton NB, specializes in estate management, preparing wills, powers of attorney, trusts, etc. At an executor’s request, she will deal with probate and the preparation of documents for court and beneficiaries. She also deals with real estate transactions and the registration and migration of land titles.

Sam Sam

Sam, our genial golden retriever, has been the official greeter and cheerful guardian of office morale since 1999. She adds value to the practice through her unfailing good humour, impeccable discretion, sympathetic spirit and her passion for fitness and exercise.
